The Ladies of SilverWind
The stallions may get all the press, but breeders for centuries have realized the mare is at least half the equation. Our mares have been chosen carefully to compliment our rare Winks stallion & his sons. We have not been disappointed with the results!
We are still building, and welcome leads on any related mares. There are only a handful of living Winks Miniatures. Primarily we've bought daughters of Winks horses, or daughters of the foundation animals Mr Winkelman used.
DBF'S Fancy Face (A)
We were beyond pleased to recieve this phone call. Fancy is the last daughter of Winks Spirit, and one of very few registered get. Spirit is a very elegant daughter of Iowa's Little Kernel and Winks Showdeo Inspiration, and Fancy inheritated her mother's elegance. She is sired by a Boone's stallion, so brings that well respected blood into our herd also. She was never bred before we purchased her at the age of 10, and is expecting her first foal in 2009. This foal is sired by Jangles.
Ollie's Polly Pearl (R)
Polly is the dam of our SilverWind Rev's Little Kernel, which has earned her a place in our history forever. She is an own daughter of Iowa's Little Kernel, and out of an own daughter of Iowa's Little Kernel, the only known 75% ILK mare. She also gave us a very beautiful daughter, SilverWind Redeemed, who in turn has given us Song of the Redeemed. Polly may well end up the premier matriarch of our herd.
HCM/Lowrey's What a Luv (A/R)
Luv is a beautiful deep silver dapple and is out of Rev's full sister, Winks Rhema. Her sire is the highly respected and gorgeous foundation stallion, Choco's Little Specks Red Boy. Her full siblings include JJ Lowrey's Red Boy and Lowrey's Princess Bobette. She has produced an AMHA National Top Ten open halter stallion. She has given us a gorgeous, tiny, jet black son who we intend to promote in the show ring, and is vet checked in foal to Jangles for an early 2009 foal.
Warners Midnight BuckorTwo (R)
Becky is a very pretty deep caramel buckskin dun 33.75" young mare. And she can MOVE! She is a Buckeroo Top Cat(sire of BTU) & Komoko's Bay Rum(Nat. Champion) great granddaughter on her top side (her sire is a top ten stallion, also), and her dam line is linebred Alfie of Mill Trail. Who is Alfie? you may ask, as I did. Alfie is a brother of Boone's Little Andy thru the great producing mare, June PI! Becky will be given to Kernel in 2009.
